  • Prepared a master development plan for a major mixed-use hotel, office, retail and convention center complex in Seoul, Korea. The engagement included project conceptual planning, market analysis and economic feasibility.

  • Conducted a hotel market analysis for India for a major international hotel chain. The analysis included site visits, market analysis, briefings and meetings with government and regional planning officials and identification of acquisition targets.

  • Provided strategic planning services for a world-wide luxury hotel chain with respect to market positioning and penetration strategies. Focus was on the luxury market in the Asia Pacific region, which required extensive site visits and market analysis on both in-bound and out-bound luxury travelers.

  • Provided a market entry and expansion study for Holiday Inn Worldwide for China and India. The study included evaluation of primary and secondary markets, preparing a strategy for market entry through such methods as ownership, joint venture and franchising, developing a strategic plan for capital needs, staffing and training and brand management.

  • Assisted Holiday Inn Worldwide in developing and evaluating a China specific hotel brand and/or repositioning of one of its existing brands for the China market. The analysis included analyzing market positioning and performance of competing brands, analysis of hotel demand and market segmentation, developing several alternative conceptual plans, and conducting a consumer survey regarding consumer attitudes and acceptance of various hotel concepts and designs.

  • Provided consulting services for Marriott International regarding expansion of the Marriott brand in China. Services included analyzing primary and secondary markets, evaluation of specific investment opportunities and brand management.

  • Prepared a strategic market plan for the Cyprus Ministry of Tourism for the Japan market. The analysis included analyzing and evaluating the tourism and hotel infrastructure in Cyprus, destination access, distribution channel analysis, market segmentation, analysis of potential market penetration and preparation of a marketing plan.

  • Prepared a global strategic tourism analysis for the Hawaii Tourism Authority as part of its statewide strategic tourism plan. The analysis included assessing Hawaii's global source markets, changes and trends in global tourism distribution systems, competitive destination analysis and assessment of economic and demographic trends for each major global region.

  • Provided Receivership services of a 400-room resort in the Caribbean. The engagement included selection and negotiation of an interim management company, management of relationships with debtor, attorneys, lender and the Court, overview of operations, budgeting and asset management.

  • Conducted hotel and tourism analyses for Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, Guam and locations in the South Pacific for both private and public sector clients.

  • Conducted valuation analyses in Saipan, Palau, Vietnam and Guam with respect to hotel and other assets held by a major estate.
